Innovative Organic Waste Management for Sustainable Agriculture Secures RIIM BRIN 2026 Research Funding
The RIIM Program is one of BRIN's competitive research funding schemes designed to promote innovative research that contributes to addressing national development challenges. This achievement reflects the growing research capacity and competitiveness of Universitas Yudharta Pasuruan's academic staff at the national level.
The funded research project is entitled:
"A Circular Economy Model for Managing Organic Kitchen Waste from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program through Maggot Cultivation and Eco-Enzyme Production and Its Implications for Sustainable Agriculture."
The research is led by Dr. Wenny Mamlianti, M.P., with the following research team members:
- Dr. Abdul Wahid, S.T., M.T.
- Desy Cahyaning Utami, S.P., M.P.
- Roisatul Ainiyah, M.Pd.
- Dr. Yekti Sri Rahayu, S.P., M.P.
Through this research, the team aims to develop a circular economy model that optimizes the utilization of organic kitchen waste generated by the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program into value-added products, such as maggot cultivation and eco-enzyme production. This approach is expected to reduce the volume of organic waste, improve waste management efficiency, strengthen sustainable agricultural practices, and generate economic benefits for local communities.
