Pasuruan – The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Yudharta University Pasuruan held the third orientation session for the 2026 Community Service Program (KKN) for student representatives on Thursday (June 11). The event, which took place at the Hall Meet Smart Class, 3rd Floor of the Nusantara Building, began at 08:00 WIB and was attended by two student representatives from each KKN group.

The orientation aimed to enhance students' abilities in producing digital content and managing social media as a means of publicizing KKN activities. These competencies are considered essential, as documentation and publication are among the required outputs of the KKN program.

The first session was delivered by Arinal Chusnah, S.Psi., M.Psi, who discussed video editing techniques. In her presentation, she explained that video is an effective medium for documenting and communicating the impact of KKN programs to a wider audience.

"A good video not only showcases a series of activities but also tells the story of the process, outcomes, and benefits of programs implemented within the community," she stated.

According to her, students need to pay attention to aspects such as video shooting techniques, storytelling, audio selection, and editing processes to produce engaging and informative videos.

"Proper documentation from the beginning of activities will facilitate the production of KKN output videos. Therefore, every activity should be recorded and archived properly," she explained.

The next session was presented by M. Rifa'i, S.Sos., M.I.Kom, who discussed social media management as a platform for publicizing KKN activities. He emphasized the importance of utilizing digital platforms to disseminate information about students’ programs and achievements during their community service assignments.

"Social media can serve as a bridge between KKN activities and the broader community. Therefore, the information published must be accurate, engaging, and educational," he said.

He further explained that social media content should be planned strategically to increase audience engagement while continuously documenting the progress of KKN activities.

"Every group has many stories worth sharing. The task of students is to package them into informative and creative content while maintaining academic values and the spirit of community service," he added.

Through this orientation, participants are expected to become documentation and publication teams within their respective KKN groups. The ability to manage video content and social media is regarded as an important skill in supporting information dissemination and strengthening the outputs of KKN 2026.

"Effective publication will make KKN programs more widely recognized and allow their benefits to reach a broader audience. Therefore, students must be able to utilize digital technology optimally to support community service activities," he concluded.

The third orientation session is part of a series of preparatory activities for KKN 2026, focusing on strengthening students' digital skills. Equipped with video editing and social media management competencies, participants are expected to produce high-quality documentation and publications that effectively highlight students' meaningful contributions to society.
